Swedish Flatbread

This soft and mildly sweet thin-bread is amazing with soups or just by itself.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups of flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1 cup cultured buttermilk

Directions

  1. Blend flower, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until fine crumbs.
  3. Stir in buttermilk until it holds together.
  4. Shape into small balls 1" in diameter.
  5. Roll out on flour.
  6. Place on greased baking sheet (or use parchment paper).
  7. Bake at 400° for 5-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  8. Cool on wire rack.
